Our New Pets

At a workshop on Saturday, hosted by The Lettered Streets Covenant Church, I finally learned how to compost.  Not only will this cut down on our waste but our wormy friends (which are pretty amazing: check out Wikipedia) will turn all our organic kitchen waste (except dairy and meat) into nutrient rich fertilizer for our garden.

Wanna start your own worm bins? The following links were given at the workshop:

This is one of the main reasons I want a house some day! Huzzah!

Let me know how it goes...

No need for a house...the workshop I went to was for apartment dwellers. We just have a townhouse and the association didn't want to add the yard waste pick up to our garbage package. The worms might have a hard time surviving in Mongolia though. :)

That's true. I'll have to wait until I'm back in the States. :)

Sorry about the meat in the compost bin. I need to add brain exercises to my routine so that I can begin to improve my memory.

I didn't realize that we were making food for Brian. (That's a definate yuck!) He's come a long way from the "picky" eater you married Shannon.
