Orencolympics

Toward the end of the London Olympics, signs popped up all around our new apartment complex and at the neighborhood park: "Olympic Celebrations for Kids of All Ages!"

"Decorate your bike and come out for a bike parade at 2pm"

"There will be snacks, a bouncy castle,

and games!"

Kaleia and Magnolia were very excited to miss their afternoon nap and participate in the parade, races, and relays. Most of the games were designed for older kids so I won't bore you with the 5 minute video of Magnolia kicking the can down and back on the basketball court. I was sure proud of all their effort and they had a great time.

I think our favorite event was the one that Magnolia "won" with this girl.

They were so proud to be the last ones standing at the end of the water-balloon toss, no one had the heart to tell them that the balloon has to actually go through the air when you toss it. You can't just hand it back and forth.

Otter pop stained and grinning, we walked our tired bodies and ribbon bedecked bikes home, flying mini-flags collected during a relay from the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.
